Customer Technical Support Engineer
The Customer Technical Support Engineer is a member of the Tier 2 support team. This group is responsible for providing first-rate technical support for the applications. This support includes troubleshooting and resolving customer technical problems for the products over the phone, via e-mail, on-site or by remote connectivity. Profile:
- 2 years Unix/UNIX Networking, Sun Solaris 8
- 2 years Unix Scripting and SQL Scripting, C or C++
- 2 years Oracle, SQL, and Times 10 database solutions
- 2 years strong technical skills in networking and system application - including Network Management tools/utilities, SNMP, WAN/LAN, Cisco routers, hubs, firewalls, VPN, DNS, switches, Cabling, Disk Devices (RAID, SCSI), and Network Interface Cards.
- Telecommunication/data communication experience
- (Telecommunication) SS7, CDMA, TDMA, or GSM experience/knowledge.
- (Data) Understanding of TCP/IP layering, routing and switching, SNMP, Ethernet, VPN, PIX Firewall.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to internal and external customers.
- Certifications SCSA, CCNA or CCNP, a plus
- Lucent SLL programming and Perl scripting, a plus
- BSEE or BS Computer Science undergraduate degree preferred
- Display a rigorous work ethic
- Possess the initiative and independent thinking to thrive in rapidly growing and dynamic environment.
- Have excellent engineering problem solving skills and display a keen sense for troubleshooting. Proven history of analyzing situations, employing creative and effective decision making to solve problems/achieve results.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when service impairments issues are escalated.
- Ability to excel in a team environment.
